Elderly care
Growing older shouldn’t mean relinquishing everything you’ve grown accustomed to in life. At Comfort Call, our key aim is to promote independence and self-reliance amongst clients so they may live happy, fulfilled lives in the comfort of their own homes.
Our support ranges from simple, practical assistance with mundane, everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning, to personal care, such as helping clients bathe, dress and take their medication. You will most likely be called upon to help administer medication or provide nursing support or help facilitate meet-ups with friends and family, accompany clients on day trips and help them overall to maintain social lives as well. We also have specially-trained staff to assist with age-related conditions like dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
Our services are bespoke to each client, pairing a care assistant or support worker according to their skill-sets and a client’s particular needs. Each care plan is designed around a specific client’s requirements, and we’ll set out key objectives at the start of their care programme to measure successes against at a later stage. At the end of the day, we’re also supplying a companion to our clients, not just a personal assistant, and we strive to insure a perfect match.
Reablement
Injury, accident, illness or even prolonged hospital stays may result in the unfortunate need for reablement when you or a family member are looking to get back on their feet. Our reablement teams at Comfort Call are specifically trained to help in those very instances, aiding clients regain confidence, mobility and independence.
Getting back from hospital after some time there often means the loss of physical strength and confidence; a daunting prospect for anyone faced with that reality. Our expert reablement team works together with nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists to assist in a client’s rehabilitation to partial or full recovery.
We’ll always look to encourage our clients to help and support themselves as much as they can. We set short and long-term goals that allow clients to take each day step-by-step in regaining independence. Supported by our experienced and highly-trained care assistants, clients will, day by day, stretch their limits in line with agreed goals. Progress is closely monitored and their reablement plan will be adjusted as necessary to respond to the client’s changing abilities.

Physical and learning disabilities
Facing disability doesn’t mean losing out on all life has to offer. Our care assistants at Comfort Call provide support and care that focuses on independence, promotes activity and encourages a social life wherever possible. Clients are then able to live a happier life within the comfort of their own homes.
We assist clients with the full range of daily living tasks while they’re in our care. Whether personal care, meal preparation, laundry, shopping, housework or managing finances, we help our disabled clients lead active lives outside and inside the home.
Care plans are designed around our clients, their preferences and aspirations. This person-centred, outcomes-focused approach gives our clients more choice and control over when and how they receive the support they need.
It’s not only adults that we help. We also provide support to many children and young people, too, helping younger clients have the best start in life they can and to do our bit in offering them as fun-filled and active a childhood as possible.
We utilise person-centred approaches to supporting people with physical and learning disabilities to help them make as many decisions for themselves as possible. If our staff are required to make choices on a client’s behalf, we always look to do so in their best interests. It’s vital, too, that we match the right care assistant with the right client based on respective skill-set and care needs.
Extra Care
High-quality care with around the clock assistance
Extra Care, or supported living, provides clients with access to high levels of care without having to sacrifice their autonomy and independence completely. Our Extra Care schemes at Comfort Call operate in purpose-built properties, keeping our elderly clients safe on premises when they’re no longer entirely self-sufficient. Our care assistant teams are on site twenty-four hours a day, ready to provide help when required.
While our Extra Care schemes may have a communal spirit, the care we offer is still highly-personalised. We build bespoke care plans based on the client’s needs, preferences and aspirations. This still enables us to deliver a personalised, outcomes-focused service.
Our Extra Care scheme care assistants are passionate about contributing to the vibrant communities in which clients can still play as active a role in as they like. In addition to developing a schedule of social activities, we also run scheme-wide initiatives which help clients stay fit and healthy, such as onsite GP clinics, nutrition workshops and exercise programmes.
End of Life Care
Everyone has the right to live a life of dignity and at Comfort Call we believe that we all have the right to die with dignity, too. Our specialist End of Life Care teams have helped many people with terminal illnesses pass away at home in a way they feel most comfortable, often surrounded by their families, friends and loved ones.
Working closely with colleagues in palliative care, our End of Life Care teams assist clients plan their final moments. We help manage pain and discomfort, putting into effect initially agreed care plans. Our staff are trained to deal with the unique and challenging pressures that this type of care brings with it, providing unobtrusive, sensitive support which ultimately promotes dignity.
Receiving End of Life Care at home, rather than in a hospital or hospice, allows people to be closer to their families, friends and loved ones. It’s also a comfort to families to know that the people they love are cared and looked after in the best possible way, helping maximise the time their loved one has left.
